Latest Updates from Our Project:

That Little Something Extra
almost 7 years ago – Mon, May 22, 2017 at 08:41:43 PM

Through the campaign you might have noticed the words Limited-Edition-Box. So what’s so limited about it? Well, we wanted those of you who decided to take the plunge and back our project with your hard earned dollars to walk away with something a little extra, since you made the production of these puzzles possible.

So, What Did We Do?

We decided to include certificates of authenticity with each puzzle, a special postcard commemorating each puzzle and, last but not least, Limited-Edition Boxes dedicated to our first printing of these puzzles (limit 500).

What’s so “Limited” About This Box?

We wanted to add something to the design of each box lid making it unique to each puzzle. When we designed Flow of Goldfish last year we added brightly colored cherry blossom pedals that appear to be blowing around on the image and on the top of the box. And written in gold letters on the top right hand corner are the words “Fuzichoco 1st Series Limited Edition Box”.

With Altar in the Forest and Dragon King’s Daughter we wanted to do something special, too. I decided to add gold butterflies similar to that in the puzzle image gently fluttering around the bottom left and upper right hand corners. I tried all kinds of colors and patterns, but they seemed to clash with the design, so in the end I used gold to match the “Limited Edition” logo, and I think it works.

We were thrilled at the outpouring of support and enthusiasm for Dragon King’s Daughter, and many of you decided to put the funds into the stretch goal with no promise of it being made any time soon. We titled the quest “Awakening the Dragon King” so it seemed fitting to add something to the design that fit the description.

Although these are not major changes to the general puzzle box design we hope they add a little keepsake value to your collection of treasures. Thanks again to all of you for making these puzzles possible.

Trade Wars

Last, but certainly not least, our good friend and collaborator ~Mike @Outer Limit Games are approaching the final week of their own Kickstarter Trade Wars, having successfully met their goal with multiple stretch goals already unlocked.

We Got Puzzles to Make!!
almost 7 years ago – Fri, May 19, 2017 at 10:23:33 PM

Thank You!!!  We did it!!!

We are overflowing with gratitude for the support you've shown us the past several weeks, and for believing in this project!  We are now able to bring two more of Fuzichoco's wonderful works of art to the table, because of you!  So we want to sincerely THANK YOU for making this happen!

 .

Pledge Manager

We're now in the process of setting up our Pledge Manager (Backerkit), which will allow you to conveniently manage your pledge and shipping address, select the puzzles that you backed, and even add-on more puzzles if you desire. For those who may be unfamiliar with a Pledge Manager, it's a very quick and easy process and the equivalent of the basic Kickstarter survey, but with more ease of use and more options. Of course, if you have any questions while filling out your survey, we'll be here to walk you through it. We will be sending out the surveys in about 2 weeks, and we will post another Update at that time as a reminder.

.

Where Do We Go From Here?

We are getting the files ready to send to our manufacturer, which shouldn't take too long. They'll create the proofs within a few days of receiving the files, and then ship them to us.  Once we have the proofs in our hands, we'll inspect them and if everything looks great, we'll approve them so production can begin.

We will keep you posted on any important information we receive along the way, and you can expect an Update from us at least once a month until the puzzles are delivered.

Thanks so much again for your support, and we hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Beauty Beneath the Sea
almost 7 years ago – Fri, May 12, 2017 at 11:40:41 PM

As promised, here are the Dragon King’s Daughter box shots! Although they’re only prototypes, you have to admit, they’re pretty stunning. Seeing the image on a screen is one thing, but when these gems arrived, and we peeled away that bubble wrap… WOW! It was a surreal moment.

Honestly, we are so eager to get DKD into production just so we can see the puzzle ourselves! But we’re not alone. More than a few of you have opted to pledge that extra $35 for the DKD puzzle to try to get it unlocked faster. Thanks to all of you who’ve “taken the plunge,” so far!!

It would be ideal to achieve funding for DKD during this campaign. Currently, we have over 80% of the funds towards DKD. We’re almost there. If you want DKD, you can increase your pledge and bring us closer to unlocking it. Just remember to shoot us a comment or message so we can add you to the list.

“What if…..?”

There’s always the possibility that DKD won’t get unlocked this time around. That’s alright, because this is our third puzzle, and thus, top priority. So, all of you who pledged for it are now on a “reserved” list.

Funds collected for DKD production will be set aside for that. We will continue to take pre-orders for it through Backerkit. Once we’ve got enough, we’ll go to production, reconfirm shipping addresses, and before you know it, you’ll be holding this captivating beauty in your hands.

“That Would Look GREAT on My Wall!”

We’ve received a lot of great comments and messages from many of you. One particular message echoed our thoughts exactly, expressing how puzzles can make really great wall art. While gilcee prints can be rather pricey and let’s not even discuss an original work of art, puzzles are much more affordable. And if you find puzzle art that you really like, you not only get the enjoyment of piecing it together and taking part in the artist’s creation, but you’re also left with a attractive piece of wall art.

Whether you frame it, mount it to a board, or just attach it directly to your wall, you’ve got a beautiful work of art that YOU put together, and YOU get to admire. You’ve also got an interesting conversation piece. It thrills us to know that many of you thought that same exact thing when you came upon this campaign and saw Fuzichoco’s art.

‘Tis the Season

The crowning achievement of every puzzle company is to be able to offer holiday puzzles. It gives people something fun and special to look forward to every year. You’ve seen us mention the Christmas print/postcard exclusive to this Kickstarter. This will be available to all puzzle backers once DKD is unlocked (or made available through Backerkit pre-orders). The puzzle itself will be available in 2018.

The actual work of art is still in the conceptual stage, but it will feature imagery modeled after Nara Park in  Nara, Japan. The park is home to over 1200 wild sika deer (pronounced shika). The deer, considered a natural treasure, wander the park grounds freely and are hand fed by residents and visitors. Nara Park is also home to the Buddhist temples Tōdai-ji, Kōfuku-ji, as well as the Kasuga Shrine and Kasugayama Primeval Forest. Needless to say, it looks like a lovely place to visit, and we were so fascinated after reading about it, we decided that it would make the perfect setting for a wintry, starlit Christmas Eve puzzle. And who better than to illustrate it, but Fuzichoco?

We’ve got just over 5 days to go. We need just under $2200 to unlock DKD. We’re already in the preparation stages for getting AITF produced, we’d love to add puzzle #3! Anything could happen, so please keep sharing. Most of all, thanks to all of you for getting us this far. It’s only just the beginning…..

Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!!

1st Stretch Goal Lowered! Pass it On!
almost 7 years ago – Tue, May 09, 2017 at 03:02:38 PM

Hey Everyone,

Happy Monday:) We hope you all had a nice weekend. As you can see, we continue to move forward with our pledges. We are now 115% funded. Thank you all for keeping up the moral support!

Within Reach

As the title of this update implies, we have managed to lower our stretch goal from $13,500 to $11,500. After a weekend of crunching numbers and serious discussion with each other and with many of you, we’ve concluded that this goal is more attainable and possible to reach this time around. Although we’ve only announced it in our ‘comments’ section, several of you have started increasing your pledges to get DKD, which will help a great deal.

Where Are We Now?

We are just less than 30% away from unlocking DKD. In theory, if 100 backers upgrade their pledge level by $35 for DKD (plus $4 shipping outside of US & EU) it will be unlocked. Of course we hope to get more new backers, but this is just an example. We have 9 days to unlock DKD.

Take the Plunge or Just Get Your Feet Wet...You Decide

Once unlocked, DKD will be made an "Add-on". However, if you’re willing to go the extra step now and increase your pledge*, we will honor it whether DKD gets produced with this campaign or the next. Though, we really would hope that it’ll be this campaign. If you feel iffy, then contact us (via a message), think it over, you can always change your pledge if need be. If you really don’t want to alter your pledge yet, but you still want DKD, than just share and spread the word. Help us let people know so that we can get there that much faster.

*NOTE: If you do increase your pledge for DKD, let us know. This is very important! Either through the 'comments' section or via a message, just give us a heads-up.

Keep it Coming’…

We’re loving all of your comments and messages! Your optimism is contagious! We seriously are running on fumes right now, but reading your encouraging words gets us really hyped to keep moving forward. We’ve also seen quite a bit of sharing on social media. Thank you! Please keep it up.

Thanks to all of you for helping to make this one heck of a puzzle company! We can’t wait to show you what we can bring to the table. Have a great week!

All the Best,

Lara, Eric & Mike
